In 1916 Ugo Annoni was born. His figure would prove to be crucial for the future development of the family business. In 1940, still very young but motivated by strong entrepreneurial spirit, he started selling the products derived from cheese production.
The Collecchio plant was inaugurated twenty years later, in the wake of the growing enthusiasm generated by the Italian economic boom. This plant, intended for the processing and aging of Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto Crudo, is one of the first and oldest in the area and is still in business.
In 1963 the Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma was established. In the same year Ugo Annoni, who is one of the founding partners, started marketing the Parma hams produced by his family under the label of ‘Ugo Annoni S.p.A.
Supported by other family members, in 1976 Ugo Annoni began to consolidate what was becoming the core business of the company. A modern slaughterhouse boasting an average of 500 slaughterings per week was built in Madonna dei Prati (Busseto, Parma) in the same year.
During the 1980s and the 1990s, the Annoni family decided to gradually cease the production of Parmigiano Reggiano to favour pig breeding and pork meat processing. A choice which led to the different specialization of the facilities:

The renovation and expansion of the premises in Collecchio was followed by the purchase of two other plants intended for the same function: one in Sala Baganza (1997) and the other one in Castellaro di Sala Baganza (2002).
